Details for the four day Centennial Rally are being finalised and the regulations will be available on line shortly ( some of our organising team are taking part in a Rally in Morocco, hence the delay). The response to these celebration events has been amazing with riders from across the world coming to the UK to help mark this landmark in off road motorcycle sport.
The first International Six Days Trial started in Carlisle, Cumbria, England on 18th August 1913 when one hundred and sixty one competitors tackled a one thousand mile course.
One hundred years later, 100 riders will ride the very same route as the first day of the first ISDT/ISDE. On Sunday 18th August 2013 starting and finishing in Carlisle.
The old timers rode a one hundred and twenty five mile stage on dirt roads and tracks and amazingly there were 59 manufacturers represented. The Centennial International Ride will start and finish exactly one hundred years to the day as in 1913 and we want as many manufacturers as possible to be included. The route passes through magnificent Lake District scenery and includes a lunch stop at Keswick, where the original riders dined. Preference on this ride will be given to owners and riders of motorcycles that have a connection with the history of the ISDT/ISDE. It will be fantastic if there can be machines from every decade including one from the event to be held in Italy in 2013.
There is no element of competition on the ride rather it is a rare chance to take part in a memorable event. We hope that some riders will be able to wear clothing to match the era of their machine and strive to be the oldest rider on the oldest machine.
The International Ride will start on Sunday morning after the Rally competitors have left the start.
Signing on will be on Saturday at the Devonshire Walk car park beside Carlisle Castle. Riders will be informed of their number and start time in advance and we plan to have the oldest machines leading the way. Riders will be given various souvenirs to mark the event and a special fluorescent jacket which must be worn while on the Ride. The route will only be marked or marshalled where required and all riders will be expected to find their own way. A detailed map of the route will be on display at the signing on area and riders will be encouraged to mark a paper map with the route. Satellite navigation systems may take the most direct route and not be suitable(the M6 motorway surrounds the city).
All machines must be road legal and riders will require a valid driving licence and insurance that meets EU requirements. Riders will be responsible for fuel and oil for their machines and recovery in the unlikely event of a breakdown. However we hope to have a sweeper vehicle to provide assistance. The route will be approximately 130 miles and will follow as near as possible the original first day route from 1913. Bypasses and dual carriageways have been built and may have to be used.
As the start area is a Silent Zone all riders will be called to a start holding area five minutes prior to their starting time. Here they may start the machine before riding onto the start ramp. Riders will be photographed on the starting ramp and leave in groups of four to follow a marked route out of the city centre.
The entry fee will include lunch in Keswick and pillion or sidecar passengers(yes outfits have taken part in the Six Days) can also enter as a buddy. Also included is entry to the Saturday Natter Night in a city centre hotel with buffet where there will be an opportunity to meet some motorcycle personalities and riders from around the world. We will welcome any memorabilia from the ISDT/ISDE such as pin badge collections, posters, photo albums and DVD material.
Every rider entered in the International Ride can also enter the first day of the Centennial Rally on Thursday August 15th. This will give riders who do not want to compete for four days the opportunity to enjoy the delights of some local tracks and green lanes and mingle with the other competitors. However the machine must be suitable and the rider capable of riding off road. They will then have a few days to repair, replenish and rest both rider and machine before the International Ride on Sunday. There will be an extra entry fee for this one day rally to cover the costs.
Carlisle City Council welcomes this historic event.
The city council have provided a prestigious city centre start/finish area adjacent to Carlisle Castle which is ideal for participants and visitors to explore the two thousand year old city. There is plenty of accommodation and restaurants in the city, go to www.discovercarlisle.co.uk for sightseeing information and accommodation details. Limited camping will be available at the start for motor homes only but the nearby campsite at Dandy Dinmont can provide spaces for caravans and tents. www.caravan-camping-carlisle.itgo.com but early booking will be essential.

La réponse à ces événements de célébration a été stupéfiante avec les cavaliers d'un bout à l'autre du monde venant dans le Royaume-Uni pour aider à marquer ce repère dans du sport de motocyclette routier.
L'Essai de Six premiers Jours internationaux commençait dans Carlisle, Cumbria, l'Angleterre le 18 août 1913 où cent soixante et un concurrents se sont attaqués à un cours de mille miles.
Il y a cent ans plus tard, 100 cavaliers monteront le même trajet comme le premier jour de premier ISDT/ISDE. Dimanche, le 18 août 2013 en commençant et en finissant dans Carlisle.
Les vieux compte-minutes ont monté un stade de cent vingt-cinq miles sur les chemins non macadamisés et les empreintes et stupéfiamment il y avait 59 fabricants représentés. Le Trajet international commencera dimanche matin après que les concurrents de Rassemblement ont quitté le début.
Le fait d'engager sera samedi au parc de stationnement de Promenade de Devonshire à côté du Château Carlisle. Les cavaliers seront informés de leur nombre et temps de début à l'avance et nous projetons d'avoir les machines les plus vieilles étant en tête. On donnera aux cavaliers des souvenirs différents pour marquer l'événement et une veste fluorescente spéciale qui doit être portée pendant que sur le Trajet. Le trajet sera seulement marqué ou rassemblé où voulu et tous les cavaliers sera attendu trouver leur propre voie. Une carte détaillée du trajet sera sur l'étalage à la signature sur la région et les cavaliers seront encouragés à marquer une carte en papier avec le trajet. Les systèmes satellites de navigation peuvent prendre le trajet le plus direct et non n'être convenables (l'autoroute M6 entoure la ville).
Toutes les machines doivent être la route juridique et les cavaliers exigeront un permis de conduire valide et une assurance qui satisfait des besoins d'UE. Les cavaliers seront responsables du combustible et du pétrole pour leurs machines et récupération dans l'événement improbable d'une panne. Pourtant nous espérons avoir un véhicule de balayeur pour fournir l'assistance. Le trajet sera environ 130 miles et suivra comme près de que possible le premier trajet de jour original à partir de 1913. Les pontages et les chaussées doubles ont été construits et devraient être utilisés.
Comme la région de début est une Zone Silencieuse que l'on appellera tous les cavaliers à un début en tenant la région cinq minutes avant leur temps de départ. Ici ils peuvent commencer la machine avant le fait de monter sur la rampe de début. Les cavaliers seront pris des photos sur la rampe de départ et le congé dans les groupes de quatre pour suivre un trajet marqué du centre-ville.
L'entrée inclura le déjeuner dans Keswick et le siège de passager ou les passagers de side-car (oui les costumes ont pris part dans les Six Jours) peut aussi entrer comme un copain. Aussi inclus est l'entrée à la Nuit de Causette de samedi dans un hôtel de centre-ville avec le buffet où il y aura une opportunité de rencontrer certaines personnalités de motocyclette et cavaliers de dans le monde. Nous accueillerons n'importe quels souvenirs de l'ISDT/ISDE comme les collections de badge d'épingle, les posters, les albums de photo et la matière de DVD.
Chaque cavalier entré dans le Trajet international peut aussi entrer dans le premier jour du Rassemblement de Centenaire jeudi, le 15 août. Cela donnera aux cavaliers qui ne veulent pas rivaliser depuis quatre jours l'opportunité d'apprécier les joies de quelques empreintes locales et de petites routes vertes et se mêler aux autres concurrents. Pourtant la machine doit être convenable et le cavalier capable du fait de monter de la route. Ils auront alors quelques jours pour réparer, reconstituer et se reposer tant cavalier que machine avant le Trajet international dimanche. Il y aura une entrée supplémentaire pour ce rassemblement de jour pour couvrir les prix.
